A new environmental campaign by The Scottish Government has launched to urge Scots to save money while saving the planet.

Created by Newhaven, the campaign features a grumpy ‘Mr Earth’ providing tips on saving energy, money and himself to spare him from suffering ailments such as ‘receding ice caps’ and ‘hot flushes’.

Mr Earth was created by Chris Watson and Rufus Wedderburn with help from London artist Ben Sansbury and MTP’s Martin Wedderburn and saw the team work on six days of post-production to get his grumpy demeanor right.

The awareness raising campaign will be supported by TV, radio and outdoor. More money saving tips will be available to the public at infoscotland.com/gogreener

The TV campaign will launch in November.

Meanwhile, The Scottish Government has revealed to The Drum that Newhaven has been tasked with creating the advertising for the recently announced sponsorship of the Homecoming Scottish Cup.

Consolidated has also been appointed to handle the PR and activation of the sponsorship deal which was passed onto the Scottish Government by Scots Entrepreneur Willie Haughey who will pay £2million to support the SFA over a two year period beginning this year.

The full details of the work has yet to be finalised at this early stage.
