Teamspirit, the financial services communications agency, has entered into a consultation process which may result in its creative team in Scotland being made redundant.

Options being explored include making the Scottish creative team redundant and operating all creative out of the agency's London office - or relocating Edinburgh-based staff to its London base or another arm of the agency's parent group, Chime.

Kevin Scott, managing director Edinburgh, confirmed: “We have started a consultation process which may result in making our creative team in Scotland redundant. We are exploring opportunities for the team both in London and also in the wider Chime group.

“Depending on the outcome of this consultation process, we may adjust our operating model so that we have a central creative team in London, supporting the Edinburgh account management team who will continue to work closely with clients.”

The Edinburgh-based creative team is headed up by the agency's creative director, Alan Kittle, who joined the agency from WWAV Edinburgh, where he was senior art director, in August 2006.

It is not known how many staff work in the agency's creative department.

Scott stressed that the consultation process was not a reflection of the performance of the business. “Teamspirit as a whole continues to perform strongly,” he said. “Our decision to embark on this consultation process is driven entirely by the fact that our Scottish operation is the only business we have that has its own creative department, everyone else works with our London creative team. This is a model that is used by other Chime marketing services agencies as well.”
