Soft drink, Vimto has appointed Neil Gibson, the marketing manager of Fox’s Biscuits as its new head of marketing.

Gibson will move to the company which has been seeking someone for the post since January after it admitted that its previous strategy of having its managing director handle the marketing plans, had not worked out.

The managing director at the time, Glen Hudson has since left the brand, which was the trigger for the decision to be made. He has since been succeeded by Jonathan Bye who Gibson will report to as he become responsible for the brand management, consumer and category insight and the development of new products.

Vimto is currently undergoing a strategic review of its brand, the next phase of which Gibson will oversee.

Bye said of Gibson’s appointment: "This appointment is absolutely key for the brand as we prepare for a new and exciting stage in its development."

The brand is also currently partnering Manchester radio station Key 103 in its 'Down Your Street' campaign which began at the start of August to celebrate Vimto's centenary.
