Tina Elliott, managing director of Leeds-based PR firm Ptarmigan, has taken voluntary redundancy at the agency after only four months in the role.

Her decision follows the agency’s call for a limited number of redundancies after losing the business of recycling organisation client, WRAP.

Elliott was appointed in April as the successor to previous managing director, Jason Madeley, who left the firm after 13 years to take a career break to go travelling.

She founded London-based consultancy Keene Communications and headed the firm for 15 years before selling the business and completing an earn-out in 2006. She then provided strategic consultancy in the north east of England before joining Ptarmigan, at a time when the agency was outlining plans to open a second office in London.

At the time of taking up her MD role, Elliott said: “Everyone at Ptarmigan has been so welcoming and I am looking forward to an exciting new career at a company with such potential and in such an upcoming city. I am confident I am going to thoroughly enjoy my time in Leeds.”

Elliott is not expected to be immediately replaced. Her departure follows the exit of board director, Paul Willis, who left his post as deputy managing director in June after 10 years at the firm.
