Aberdeen-based, Glenglassaugh Distillery has appointed Tartan Silk and design consultancy Tayburn to handle its PR and branding respectively, following a competitive pitch process.

Tartan Silk was previously appointed by Glenglassaugh in April to manage the PR surrounding the acquisition of the Distillery by European investment house, Scaent, from the Edrington Group.

At the same time Glenglassaugh hired Graham Eunson, former manager of Glenmorangie, as the new distillery manager. As a result of the project carried out by Tartan Silk, the agency was appointed on a permanent basis.

Meanwhile, Tayburn has been appointed to develop Glenglassaugh’s corporate identity and packaging.

The distillery, which has been closed for the past 22yrs, has never been promoted in its own right, a rarity in today’s ultra-competitive whisky market.
