Gocompare.com, the insurance comparison website, has appointed TBWA\Manchester to its £10m advertising account, following a competitive pitch.
Gocompare.com has tasked TBWA to develop through-the-line campaigns on all brand communications.
Nicholas Hall, head of marketing for Gocompare.com, said: “The market is becoming increasingly competitive and we believe that we have selected a communications partner that will enable us to reinforce our market position - helping our customers find the best insurance cover for their requirements, and at the best price.’’
Mediaedge:cia, which handles media planning and buying for Gocompare.com, is unaffected by the appointment.
Meanwhile, TBWA has appointed Tsuko creative director Pete Bastiman as its creative partner for copy.
Bastiman, who joined the Edinburgh based-agency in March from 1576 following its closure, will now team up with Tom Richards at TBWA.
Earlier in his career, Bastiman worked for BDH - the agency which was relinquished in favour of the TBWA\Manchester branding last year.
Bastiman will be one of a number of creative partners at the agency, reporting into executive creative directors Mick Foden and Richard Sharp.
Bastiman told The Drum: “Although Mick Foden, the joint executive creative director, made his intentions known back in February, I remained focused on doing the job I’d been brought in to do at Tsuko. And I think the clients we’ve converted and the work we’ve produced, plus several very complimentary client emails is testament to the hard work the team has put in.”

In between I flirted with London but came back to Scotland because there’s a desire to roll up the sleeves and get stuck in, regardless of budget or whether or not you’re doing telly or a mouse mat. Tsuko is thought to be looking for a replacement for Bastiman to head up its creative team.
