Clear Marketing has created a brand identity for OnSide, a new north west charity that will provide facilities and opportunities for young people.

The Manchester-based agency has created a new logo, strapline – ‘always there for young people’, brochure, leaflets and other marketing and fund raising collateral in a bid to drive the scheme forward.

Clear managing director, Jim Smith, has also joined the charity’s board as head of marketing.

OnSide’s initial aim is to create five purpose built youth facilities across the north west that will be modelled on the admired Bolton Lads and Girls Club, which is currently used by 3,500 young people a week. Plans for OnSide Youth Centres are currently being developed in Blackburn, Oldham and Carlisle.

The charity brings together local authorities, volunteers and leading

north west businesses.

Jim Smith will work alongside fellow board members including Bill Holroyd (chairman), Ross Warburton, Nick Hopkinson, Virginia Halliwell, Chris Oglesby, William Lees-Jones and Margaret Preston to promote the new initiative. OnSide is headed by Jeremy Glover, chief executive of The Bolton Lads and Girls Club.

Smith said: “The brand identity and language used has been designed

to appeal to club members as well as communicate what the scheme is about.

The marketing campaign will focus on raising awareness of the scheme, to gain supporters and raise much needed funds. We need £300,000 for the first three years.”

Clear has donated all marketing, design and print to OnSide.
