Suburb

Pride Manchester branding

I quite like the overall design of this new branding and for me it works well, although it does take on the feel and style of the many billboard posters scattered around the streets of Manchester advertising various bars, clubs and DJ’s. However given the growing popularity of this event I think this branding will, no doubt, add to the events continued success. 7/10

The King’s Arms

Frosty Jack’s Cider TV idents

Whilst I like the concept and sometimes the effectiveness of ‘door stepping’ people in the street I do find it somewhat irritating; especially those that feature members of the public who appear to be from a different planet! The problem with these idents are that the branding is too small and I think there is a danger people will remember the catch phrase as opposed to the actual product brand. This is one of those ads that makes you want to turn over. 5/10

Silver Films

Umbro short films

As a sports fan I must admit to liking anything that combines sport and music creatively. The track chosen for the film is catchy, fits well with the message and creates a real retro 70’s feel. I especially like the imagery used which has an early 007/Italian Job feel to it. This is the kind of film you would expect to see at the cinema whilst tucking into that big tub of pop corn whilst thinking why don’t I look like that in my shorts? 8/10

Code Computerlove

Crown Paint website

A very nice website, if in fact the thought of painting and re-decorating could ever be described as nice. It has a fresh look and feel to it and is easy to navigate around. I especially like the interactive colour charts and great ideas you can select, then choose the room you want to decorate and see how it looks in a 360 degree virtual tour. Also try hovering your mouse over the ‘whiz kids’ doodling! This is the kind of site that you can waste away your lunch hour on creating the perfect looking home without making a mess. 7/10

Driven

Westland tv commercial

This I like. Yes, I know its corny but sometimes those things just work – think Cadburys and the Gorilla playing the drums! I think the link between compost and a singing/dancing worm is simple yet brilliant. I mean, come on, how do you make compost interesting? 8/10
