The RNLI has appointed Bournemouth-based Walker Digital to unify its online brand identity.

Walker Digital has created two web templates which will be rolled out across the charity’s 234 lifeboat stations across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The templates allow customisation and flexibility, and are tailored to suit all levels of web experience.

The first lifeboat stations to launch their sites will be Walmer and Tynemouth this summer. The template development marks the next phase of the charity’s online strategy. Alison O’Neill, RNLI emedia manager, said: “The RNLI’s volunteers’ paramount importance is saving lives. Currently individual lifeboat stations produce their own websites, resulting in an inefficient use of volunteers’ time and inconsistent branding. “Implementing Walker Digital’s templates will be a great help to the volunteers creating sites for their lifeboat stations, and will also help to maintain the RNLI’s brand while keeping supporters in touch with their local lifeboat station.”
