The Publicity Club of Glasgow is to hold its annual general meeting next month in the Crowne Plaza.

The event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow at 6:00pm

2007 saw Alan Kelly, formerly of Barkers, take on the role of president; a post which is held for two years.

Kelly commented: “The AGM gives us an opportunity to communicate to our members what the Club has done in the previous year and what its plans are for the coming year. It allows members the opportunity to have a voice in how their club is run. After all we, the committee, are simply responding to their demands, and we look forward to this opportunity to hear from them.”

Following research into what it is that the industry wanted from the club; several changes were put into place late in 2007, including the decision to update the club’s 80 year old logo.

The new logo reflected the club’s prestigious heritage by incorporating its foundation year into the new design. Other measures included a review and update to the club’s website – www.publicityclubofglasgow.com to include an online members registration area which will become active in the next month.

The Publicity Club runs as a not-for-profit organisation and is managed by a committee of peers in the industry who volunteer their time to profile the Club’s activities and raise money for various charities, including the industry charity NABS, through its many events.
