Sal Bhatti, the former head of commercial development at Associated Metro, has joined MediaVest to work on the Barrett Homes account.

Bhatti arrives as associate director after seven years heading up the regional sales office for Associated Metro and will work on the housebuilder account with MediaVest director Charlie Varley.

Bhatti’s career has included stints at a number of leading media organisations, including; Mindshare (Manchester), Gillett & Bevan Manchester and Express Newspapers.

Bhatti began working with MediaVest on a consultancy basis in February, having enjoyed a short break away from the industry.

“MediaVest is a highly respected business” said Bhatti, “The company has an outstanding pedigree and I’m looking forward to being an integral part of future developments.”

Varley added: “We’re delighted to have Sal on board on a permanent basis. He’s well respected in the industry, for good reason and is a highly valued addition to the agency. Everyone here is enthused to have him on board.”

In the last issue of The Drum, MediaVest owners Andy Jeal and Dave Lucas revealed the firm’s goal is to reach the £300million billings mark.
