Creators of TV show The Mighty Boosh are understood to be considering legal action against Sugar Puffs' new TV commercial, which resurrects the Honey Monster character.

The comedians behind ‘The Mighty Boosh’, Noel Fielding and Julian Barratt, are speaking to lawyers about getting the ad pulled, The Sun reports.

The ad features Honey Monster and a friend singing in a similar style to the Boosh’s trademark ‘crimp’. Hundreds of comments have been left on YouTube from irate fans of the show. One reads: "This is an outrage! Total Mighty Boosh rip."

Bray Leino announced it would be resurrecting the brand’s Honey Monster character for the ad earlier this month. The commercial is set to run until May and then return from early July through mid-August.
