The Creative Industries Development Service (CIDS) tasks Fudge Studios to overhaul its web offering.

CIDS works to help new and established creative businesses in Greater Manchester and quarterly publishes the Creative Times trade journal for the industry.

Bolton-based Fudge’s two-fold brief involves developing an online portal for Creative Times and also redeveloping the organisation’s main site, www.cids.co.uk

The new Creative Times site will be community-driven with content derived from both the creative industry and from the site’s dedicated management team. The site’s main aims will be to feature industry news and comment, as well as showcasing creative talent to prospective buyers through the use of online portfolios.

Fudge will work with CIDS to formulate a web-focussed business model to fund both the development of Creative Times and other CIDS activities.

Fudge managing director, David Eccles, said: “Its great to have the opportunity to be involved with such an exciting project especially from an organisation that by its nature is well informed as to the range of agency talent in the region. Publishing Creative Times online, retaining its readability and visual clout is a fantastic challenge that we are really enjoying getting stuck in to.”

The new site will launch in April.
