Family and Storm ID have joined forces to launch ‘a joint venture’ in the form of digital marketing company, Perfect Storm.

The new business will be headed up by managing director Vivienne MacLaren, who has been with Storm ID since the summer of last year where she set up its digital marketing marketing division.

MacLaren previously worked alongside Paul MacGuinness, founder of Storm ID while at Scotland On Line.

MacLaren has also been business marketing manager at ScottishPower, a consultant to S1 and also launched 1576’s online division.

This brings an end to Family’s long search for a digital output, having looked to recruit for some time. Family’s previous digital venture in 2003 saw it work alongside former new media director of Faulds, James Oliver.

The new business is owned by MacLaren, alongside both agencies which have the largest share.

Stefan Pearson will work as account manager, while new staff will be recruited in March.

Meanwhile, Family has also been appointed by the Scottish Charity Register to complete a public awareness campaign.

The campaign was initially appointed to 1576 which had produced the initial creative treatments, but was unable to finish the project before closing earlier this month.
