Richard Wright, former commercial director at The Designers Republic, has been appointed as the firm’s new managing director in recognition of his contribution during their recent period of rapid growth.

Company founder Ian Anderson is stepping into the creative director’s role. Wright joined the company two years ago from a similar position at product design business AME.

“I am really looking to drive the business through our next stage of development,” said Wright. “I couldn’t be in a better starting position: our reputation as one of the world’s best design companies allows us to attract the best staff and clients, which in turn allows us to do the best work.

“I feel we are a creative agency based in the region: not a regional agency. The Designers Republic is truly an international business in terms of staff, reputation and clients.”

Steve McKevitt remains on the board as non-executive director.
