Mawhinney to leave Frame for life in San Francisco
Steve Mawhinney, senior art director at Frame is to leave the agency for a life in America.
It is understood that Mawhinney is to move to San Francisco in the next fortnight with his wife, with no job to go to. He has already been to America “on a couple of recky” trips and spoken to agencies already.
“I’m looking for a change of scenery as I’ve been here for nearly 15 years and there’s a healthy market over there,” he said.
Mawhinney continued: “I’ve seen all of the agencies that you need to see over there and my book has gone down well, so we shall see what happens.”
Mawhinney joined the Glasgow-based agency in June of this year, having previously worked at TBWA and Faulds, among other agencies.
At Faulds he was deputy creative director alongside now 1576 creative director Pete Bastiman, before the two moved to TBWA where they shared the creative director role.
