Maxxium’s Phil McLaughlin loses cancer battle

Phil McLaughlin, marketing operations manager at Maxxium UK died last week having battled cancer for the last three months.

McLaughlin, 45 had been recovering well in recent times and had been talking of returning to work, only for his condition to regress suddenly last week.

Many colleagues and friends have expressed their sadness at the news.

McLaughlin previously worked as trade marketing manager at Whyte and Mackay before helping to set up Maxxium in 2000.

Huw Pennel, marketing director at Maxxium UK paid tribute to McLaughlin: "Phil was a lovely, gentle man, positive and fun loving - if there was a party, Phil was always at the heart of it.

“Phil was always totally professional but still willing to share a joke and always had a smile on his face even when Celtic lost. He had a great ability to inspire and motivate others, getting the best out of people.

“Phil was well respected and liked. He will be greatly missed by us all."

McLaughlin leaves behind his wife Tia and four year old daughter Abby.
