The high-profile pitch for Scottish Executive’s media account, worth up to £68m over three years, has been delayed.

The announcement of the winner of the pitch was due to be made at the start of September, however this deadline will not now be met.

A spokesman for the Executive said: “There have been some issues due to pressure of work and the review will now happen later than expected.”

He added: “I can’t give you any indication when it will happen, unfortunately.” However, he did confirm that incumbent Mediacom will be retained in the meantime.

It is thought that six agencies had been lined up to pitch for the business, however problems, believed to be in the procurement process, have led to a hold-up.

Included on the pitch list are Feather Brooksbank, Spirit Media and the incumbent MediaCom, alongside MediaVision and BZO, the joint venture between Barkers and Zenith Optimedia.
