Frame has appointed the former Gala Coral gaming company’s group sales and marketing director, Richard Sowerby, as non-executive chairman .

Sowerby, along with John Kelly, led the MBO of Gala in 1997 and helped take the bingo company from a value of £235m to a gaming company worth in excess of £4 billion, offering bingo, casinos, online gaming and licensed betting offices.

The Gala Coral Group is the UK’s largest private company.

Sowerby commented: “I have worked with Frame for the past six years and they have provided the Gala Coral Group with outstanding work and service, often to a level that other agencies can only aspire to.”

Frame added: “It is fantastic to have Richard onboard – not only does he have extensive advertising experience, working on some great brands such as Guinness, Kraft, Cadbury’s and Grant’s but he also has first class business strategy skills and is a real inspiration to all at Frame.”

Meanwhile, Frame has created an integrated advertising campaign, led by television, to spearhead the growth in Gala Coral’s online bingo arm, www.galabingo.co.uk

The campaign launches the partnership between Gala Bingo and Sharon Osbourne, with Osbourne playing Gala Bingo online in a number of different and glamorous scenarios, demonstrating how easy it is to play Gala Bingo online.

The TV campaign - which launched - will be supported by an extensive below-the-line campaign, created by Iris in London. All media planning and buying was handled by Mediavest in Manchester.
