The Last word

Over 450 of Scotland’s advertising elite packed Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel on 21 October to find out who had won what at this year’s Scottish Advertising Awards – and of course, enjoy a few drinks along the way (evidence, if needed, provided above).

Laughs were courtesy of Perrier-nominated comedian Jason Manford, who also acted as host as the hopeful agencies discovered if their work had won one of the coveted silver daggers. After the awards had been dished out, Champagne corks were popped and attention turned to the dancefloor. The Last Word heard rumours that some party-goers were still strutting their stuff into the wee small hours of the morning, Last Word would also like to point out that it was tucked away safely in bed by that point. Mrs Last Word was impressed. For those more attuned to late nights – and it’s been said there were quite a few – the party moved to the bar. Last Word, being tucked away in bed, notebook retired to the drawer, has no idea what happened from then on in. Probably for the best.
