Malcolm Watt, former sales and marketing director of Macallan and Glenlivet, has launched a new online venture aimed at professional over-50s looking for a new direction in life.

The August Club (www.augustclub.com) - which Watt has launched with his brother Brian, a former senior consultant at the NHS – is aimed at people who have perhaps been made redundant or sold their businesses and want to explore different opportunities. Although the launch goes live this week with 100 charter members, the Club will be looking to recruit members paying £150 a year, which entitles them to 3 months’ membership of The Hallion club in Edinburgh, and a waived joining fee.

The site has been designed by the creative collective, Keltic Skunks, with Moriarti designing the website and technology journalist, Nick Clayton, being responsible for editorial. The Gupta Partnership has worked on the planning, strategy and structure of the club.
