Nobok, a new company created to give international sports fans unirivalled access to their sporting legends, has appointed Universal McCann as its media communications agency. Nobok has set aside a £2m marketing budget for 2005, and has tasked the agency with undertaking all media communications around the launch including pushing its \'Legends and You\' proposition.

Footballing great Sir Bobby Robson and World Cup winning rugby star Martin Johnson have both confirmed their involvement with the project and are expected to be joined by other legends from around the globe shortly. Ambassadors of Nobok will supply exclusive content, interact on web forums, host events and provide authentic memorabilia for live on-line auctions.

Mark Middlemas, group account director at Universal McCann, commented: Â \"Nobok

is a ground-breaking consumer brand offering sports fans unrivalled access to

their ultimate sporting heroes.\"

Nobok\'s co-founder, Andrew Strode-Gibbons, remarked: \"Nobok is a broad consumer proposition which incorporates some of the leading names and moments in sporting history. We wanted to appoint a media agency that really understands how to communicate Nobok to a targeted audience of sports fans. Universal McCann has all the necessary credentials to fulfil the brief, combining a track record of success with a wide variety of leading brands,

supported by a network of established media contacts. Their dynamic approach

and passion for sport is a great culture fit too.\"
