Brian Child, the former chief executive at McCann Erickson, and current chair of the Marketeer Association, has joined Elmwood as a non-executive director.

Industry stalwart Child brings with him a raft of experience, having worked on a number of reknowned brands such as Peugeot, Coca-Cola, Esso, Sony and GUS. Child worked for the advertising giant in Manchester from 1989 until his retirement, in 2002.

Child will be joined on the board by two other new non-executive directors: Sydney-based creative strategist, Richard Watson, and Liberal Democrat Treasury Spokesman in the House of Lords, Lord Newby.

Chairman of Elmwood, Jonathon Sands said of the appointments: “We wanted a real step-change in growth of our business. There is a lot happening: we are growing the London office, expanding into Australia and improving our business in general. We felt that we needed more blue chip brains around the table to challenge and mentor the leadership team, including me.”
