After a lengthy search Ofcom has found its director for Scotland, in the form of Vicki Nash, former chief executive of East Dunbartonshire Council.

In her new role with Ofcom Nash will work closely with the Ofcom Advisory Committee for Scotland, which was appointed last month. She takes up the position later this month.

Prior to East Dunbartonshire Council, Nash was director of the Scottish Water and Sewerage Customers’ Council, and has also worked for the Scottish Office and Fife Regional Council.

Stephen Carter, chief executive of Ofcom, said: “Vicki Nash will have a vital role to play in the Scottish media and telecommunications industry. We have consciously taken the time to get this appointment right. We are delighted that Vicki will be the first director of Ofcom Scotland.”
