Following the recent merger of Adline and The Marketeer, part of the Carnyx Group stable, The Drum’s editorial team has been restructured.

The changes see Gordon Laing step up to the position of deputy editor, a move that means he will take on a more influential role in deciding the direction of the magazine’s news and feature content.

Laing joined The Drum as a reporter in 2000 and during the last three years has edited CyberDrum and also spent time working on the business title Unlimited.

Katy Archer has been promoted to the position of assistant editor and online editor.

Archer joined The Drum’s editorial team in 2002 and will now take responsibility for www.thedrum.com, ensuring that fresh news content is available on a daily basis, as well as contributing to the magazine’s content.

Returning to The Drum’s editorial team as a reporter and feature writer is Dave Hunter.

Hunter has been with the Carnyx Group since 1998 and has spent the last two years building The Marketeer brand in the North of England. His role on The Drum will now see him ensure that the magazine remains a highly visible face within the Scottish media and marketing community.

Speaking of the changes, Richard Draycott, editor of The Drum and Adline, said: “As the Carnyx Group looks to expand further south it is essential that The Drum continues to be a highly visual member of the Scottish media and marketing scene. These changes will ensure that is the case and the magazine will go from strength to strength.”
