Nissan: Nissan Heisman House by TBWA Chiat Day
- Location:
The start of college football means plenty of attention will be paid to the potential winner of the coveted Heisman Trophy, celebrating the top player in college ball. Nissanhas gathered a bunch of past winners of the trophy to kick off its 2019 Heisman House campaign.
Nissan is a partner with the NCAA, and the Heisman House campaign is a part of the 14-year sponsorship of the Heisman Memorial Trophy Award and the Heisman Trophy Trust.
Now in its ninth year, this season’s Nissan Heisman House campaign features nine Heisman Trophy winners in a series of TV spots airing on ESPN running throughout the college football season. The season’s opening spot, ‘Road to the Heisman House,’ will air during the UCLA vs Cincinnati game on ESPN.
The spot features the former winners, many who went on to successful pro careers, driving in various Nissan vehicles to a mansion, known as the Heisman House. We first see the two back-to-back Heisman winners from Oklahoma – Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray – driving to the home, for Murray’s first time since winning the award. He wears a suit while all the others wear their college jerseys.
We also see Paul Hornung (Notre Dame, 1956), along with Derrick Henry (Alabama, 2015), Marcus Mariota (Oregon, 2014), Tim Tebow (Florida, 2007), Eddie George (Ohio State, 1995), Bo Jackson (Auburn, 1985) and Tim Brown (Notre Dame, 1987) headed to the house, jabbing and jawing along the route. When they arrive, Murray and his rose-colored suit are welcomed with open arms.
