Greats, the DTC sneaker brand acquired by Steve Madden a month ago, is making waves again as it has launched its latest marketing campaign in partnership with Agency Within, a digital marketing firm working with leading brands including Nike, Hugo Boss, Budweiser, Spanx and Shake Shack. The 'This is an Ad' campaign reimagines DTC marketing strategies and answers consumers’ ever-increasing demand for authenticity and transparency.
The campaign will span across Facebook, Instagram, OTT, as well as leverage AR technology to fully immerse consumers themselves into the ad, and levels with viewers that they are in fact seeing an ad. The idea is as simple as the minimalist sneaker brand itself: ‘this is an ad, we’re a shoe, here it is” (see below). Agency Within’s mentality is that consumers spend 3.5 years of their lives viewing some sort of ad, it’s time we stop stealing those years and be more straight-up.
