A drunk driver who posted an online confession after he killed a man whilst driving under the influence has been given a six-and-a-half year prison sentence.

The Youtube clip has over 2,370,000 views.

Matthew Cordle pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and driving while intoxicated.

"Whatever my sentence may be, there's no such thing is a fair sentence when it comes to taking a life," he said in court.

"I am so sorry for the pain I caused you for the loved one I have taken from you. It should have been me that night."

The confession was arranged via the site ‘Because I Said I Would’, which nominally encourages users to keep their promises.
