John Travolta has appeared in a TV ad for Ypióca, a Brazilian rum brand that was purchased by British drinks giant Diageo for $900m last year.

The actor, who has shown off his dancing skills in a plethora of films like Grease, Hairspray, and Saturday Night Fever, stars in the 30-second commercial currently being aired across Brazilian TV networks.

With admirable enthusiasm, the 59-year old is seen walking along the beach in a straw fedora before stopping to give some football players a lesson in dancing.

Advertising spend for the campaign is currently unknown, but Diageo revealed this week it spent a mammoth £1.8bn on marketing across drinks brands last year.

The Drum wonders how much went on Ypióca.
