With one week to go until the entry deadline, The Drum Marketing Awards has announced it will move to a Gold, Silver, and Bronze system of awarding successful work for the 2024 global competition.

Gold Award

Brands and agencies will be going for gold in 2024

In years gone by The Drum Marketing Awards judges have awarded a winner and at least one highly commended entry in each awards category. The move to awarding at least one Gold, Silver, and Bronze winner in each category will ultimately enable judges to reward even more successful marketing campaigns and recognize more people behind those campaigns than in previous years.

The Drum Marketing Awards are split into three regional competitions that focus on each key geographic region – EMEA, the Americas, and APAC – with each region having its dedicated judging panel made up of marketing experts who know the region’s marketing sector and specific brands and economic nuances.

The three judging panels for the 2024 competition include CMOs from brands including Dunkin’, Unilever, HSBC, Audi, Bayer, Adidas, P&G, Pret A Manger, Deliveroo, Boots UK, Barbour and many more.

Speaking of the change, managing director of The Drum Events, Lynn Lester, said: “This is an exciting development and one we have been carefully considering as The Drum Marketing Awards has continued to grow as a global marketing competition in recent years.

“Because our marketing awards attract such a breadth of entries, from huge global brands to smaller regional and local brands, we felt that this change would offer our judges more flexibility in recognizing and rewarding the many different types of campaigns that have delivered the best results. Over the years we have been stunned by the amount of high-quality work that we needed to be recognized, so we have changed our entire winners structure so The Drum Marketing Awards can celebrate even more brilliant people.”

Chairing the EMEA judging panel is Cristina Diezhandino, CMO at Guinness, and Johnny Walker parent company Diageo. Chairs for the Americas and APAC competitions will be announced in due course.
