VML and Amplify have been officially crowned Network Agency of the Year and Independent Agency of the Year, respectively, as The Drum presented awards to the teams who scooped the top honors in the final show of The Drum Awards Festival.

In the week that The Drum Marketing Awards hosted its official launch party, The Drum’s global editor, Cameron Clarke, and managing director of events, Lynn Lester, visited VML and Amplify’s London offices to present their prestigious awards, which came as a result of them winning won multiple awards across multiple competitions during The Drum Awards Festival.

VML picked up awards and was also highly commended for global campaign work for brands including Coca-Cola, Oreos, General Mills, Corona and Wendy’s.

On receiving the Network Agency of the Year Award at an all-agency celebration in its London office, VML’s global chief digital officer, Debbie Ellison, vowed to retain the prestigious title again in 2024.

She said to the gathered VML team: “I’m so grateful for all the hard work that you do day in and day out to deliver the best award-winning work for our clients. We are here in 2024. We’re going to do it all again. We’re going to do it better. And, yes, we are going to retain the title.”

Amplify was crowned Independent Agency of the Year after scooping numerous awards for impressive campaigns for brands such as Sony Playstation, Lego, Pinterest and Klarna.

Collecting the award in front of his agency team, Amplify founder and global CEO Jonathan Emmins said: “I still feel like a kid in a sweetie shop. The kind of brands and kind of people we get to work with and the kind of work we get to do is amazing, that’s both internally and our extended family. We’ve got some amazing clients and they all put their trust in us and it’s always a massive team effort on everything, so we are very grateful to get this award.”

Speaking of Amplify’s win, The Drum’s editor Cameron Clarke added: “It is no mean feat winning this award. We know how hotly contested the awards are, especially the Independent Agency category, and any agency would covet that award, so everybody in this building should be very proud of the year you have had and the amazing work you have done.”
