A giant Little Simz stomps the streets of NYC in Vans 3D billboard ad
The rapper is the face of the skateboarding brand’s latest sneaker launch.
Vans tasked the production company Final Frontier and design studio Woodwork to create an eight-second animation that sees Little Simz kicking through Vans’ classic checkboard print in the newly released Knu Stack shoes.
Live on the corner of 7th and 3rd Street until the end of August, the giant 3D billboard is estimated to be seen by over 4.5 million people.
To beam Little Simz on to the billboard, the team used photogrammetry of the rapper to texture-map them on to her body parts and outfit, aligning with the campaign style. The scene was also lit to replicate natural lighting and enhance the 3D effect.
