Scotland’s ‘other national drink’ doesn’t care what you think it tastes like, as long as you think it’s great.

The debate around one of Scotland’s most successful exports continues with this action-packed ad that sees two American cops argue over what flavor Irn-Bru is.

In ’Wire’, viewers see the duo almost come to blows over whether the fizzy drink tastes like tutti-frutti or bubble gum. Sadly, they don’t have a lot of time to waste because, as they argue, a bomb is about to explode. In the midst of their disagreement there’s a loud bang and the ad closes with two flaming cans of Irn-Bru and the tagline: ’Let’s just agree it tastes bangin’.’

Adrian Troy, marketing director at AG Barr, said: “Irn-Bru’s unique flavor has kept our fans talking since the beginning. Bringing the taste debate to life through various different film genres has been great fun. The ‘Wire’ superbly catches the age-old question in the midst of a high-octane action thriller, with quite dire, quite hilarious consequences for the passionate protagonists.”

This is the third iteration of the taste debate created by The Leith Agency, with The7Stars planning media across key gen Z focused social channels.
