When it's your first Cannes Lions, you need a good tour guide. So to get to grips with the sprawling festival, The Drum's chief executive Diane Young sought out some of the industry's biggest hitters to find out how they make the most of their time on the French Rivieira. Here are the highlights.

From dinner with Ryan Reynolds to hanging out with the mainstage speakers to hearing new thinking from brands, I got lots of insights from the movers and shakers of the industry about how they squeeze the most out of their Cannes Lions experience.

Among those I spoke to there was a feeling of great joy at being back together after so long apart, but I wanted to hear much more about the best things they'd seen and heard at the festival. So, I asked five quickfire questions in two and a half minutes to industry leaders including Sir Martin Sorrell, senior monk at Media Monks, Jamie Moldafsky, chief marketing officer of Nielsen, Rupen Desai, global chief marketing officer of Dole Sunshine Company and Thas Naseemuddeen, chief executive of Omelet.

The interviews were featured as part of The Drum TV, our one-of-a-kind pop-up marketing television station running for three days during the Lions festival. But if you missed any of that, recap below on what some of the industry's biggest names had to say about the best things they saw in Cannes this year.
