In his new role, Vranakis will focus on re-branding the nation of Greece abroad with a focus on technology, creativity, innovation and sustainability. He will oversee the re-branding in conjunction with Greece’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Enterprise Greece and across numerous ministries and government organizations.

He will relocate to Athens from London to assume his new role.

As per The Pappas Post, his goal is to let the world know that Greece is back and he aims to send a strong message to the legions of Greeks abroad that it’s time to return and rebuild the nation after a decade of crisis.

Prior to this, he was the executive director of Google’s Creative Lab in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will leave his position at Google during his work with the Greek government
