Matt Sillivan named The Drum's US vice president

Sullivan has moved to New York from London with his family to take up the role, which will see him assume responsibility for consolidating The Drum in the market, as well as launching new services such as The Drum Network, a membership organization aimed at ambitious marketing services agencies.

The Drum has grown significantly in the US over the last 12 months, and it now represents more than half of its audience.

Prior to joining The Drum, Sullivan worked for organizations such as the Marketing Agency Association and the Direct Marketing Association, where he helped build award schemes across the US.

Said Diane Young, The Drum’s chief executive officer: “When I first met Matt I knew he had ambitions to live in the US and I am so pleased that our growth plans for America and his life plan have come together so nicely.

“Over the next few weeks, we will be making plans for how we develop our full range of products in the US in the months and years ahead. This reflects our commitment to investing in the US and it marks an important moment for our company.”

Sullivan will continue to be responsible for The Drum Network globally. However, in the UK the Network has been augmented by the appointment of media journalist Chris Sutcliffe as its editor. He will take the lead on all content and support members as they seek to build their profiles.

Said Sullivan: “It is great news that Chris has joined the team. But it is also great to be in New York. The opportunities are huge here, and I am looking forward to working with the US team to start accelerating The Drum in this amazing market.”
