"The homecoming event was a spectacular success. The whole project was put together in a matter of days involving a great deal of planning and organisation. It was a fitting celebration and the culmination of a magnificent summer."

Jonathan Ford, Chief Executive of FAW

After qualifying for a first major tournament since 1958, Wales finished top of their 2016 UEFA European Championship group (which included England, Slovakia and Russia), before going on to reach the semi-finals.

The remarkable journey of the national team energised the nation, and the support shown both at home and in France was at times astonishing. The efforts of Chris Coleman’s team demanded recognition, and the Football Association of Wales engaged Orchard to help stage a special Welcome Home Celebration at Cardiff City Stadium for the returning heroes.

Following an open top bus parade through a packed city centre, the Squad arrived at a Sold Out Cardiff City Stadium, to be greeted by 33,000 supporters at a giant celebration which included performances from a host of Welsh performers and a headline set from The Manic Street Preachers. Those who were unable to obtain tickets for the event were able to watch the action unfold on TV, with the event broadcast live on BBC1 Wales.

Orchard’s work on this project included:

• Project Management

• Production Management

• Artist Booking & Liaison

• In Bowl Activity & Branding

• Scripting & Broadcaster Liaison

• Event Filming

• 360 Film Production
