Ad of the Day: LG gets real in latest spot touting diversity and authenticity through electronics

LG Electronics touts diversity and honesty in new spot

LG Electronics has enlisted a batch of real and diverse people in its latest spot for its new smart phone.

In partnership with Huge, LG has introduced a new campaign called ‘This is Real’ for its new flagship smart phone, the LG V30, and the people highlighted in the video come across as authentic and honest.

The real-life people, including a hearing impaired dancer and an actress living with alopecia, each make a promise to use their LG V30s to capture and share true stories, rather than curated fantasy realities.

In the spot, we hear and see these people saying that they promise to be their authentic selves online through their mobile phones.

The inspiration behind the campaign was to re-imagine “authenticity" for the smart phone generation. Although we live in a “post-truth” world, where people use technology to create social media content that’s anything but authentic, LG wanted to create an opportunity for people to use the same technologies as a tool for true self-expression, whatever that may be for each individual.
