The Drum recently caught up with Nick Burd, creative director, digital/social at Ignition, to find out what he thinks it takes to be a great creative.

He explained that the most important thing he has learnt over the years is to have a willingness to listen. Burd also said: "[you need to] really think an idea through and make sure that after that initial 'aha' moment, you can take it down the road and really make sure it has legs."

Talking about how to continue being creative, Burd speaks of ensuring you are up to date on social. He said: "It is definitely all about being on the different social platforms, I think it is easy to dismiss some of that stuff as being young or frivolous but in our industry its what we use to get our message out there and really be there."

Burd joined Ignition over two years ago as associate creative director, digital and social, and was promoted in October last year.

His full interview with The Drum can be viewed about. Find out what Winston Binch, Deutsch North America's chief digital officer, said when we asked him what it takes to be a great creative.
