The new team, created to build upon the decade-old team in New York, will focus on creating design work across branding, identity, product, packaging, digital and physical content.

The London office was co-founded by Dan Broadwood and Christian Cervantes, who will run the group as strategy director and creative director respectively, answering to company chief executive Michael Wall.

The company’s existing clients include Diageo and Coca-Cola with previous work submitted to Nike and BBC.

Wall said: “Christian and Dan are a tremendously talented part of the family. They've been leading design in the agency, for both our existing clients as well as their own, for a while now. This is a natural and good moment to put some focus behind our high-level capabilities in design as a practice in its own right.”

Mother design recently worked on a project for the Design Museum's New Old exhibition, which looks at ageing in a fresh light.
