Dentsu was warned about illegal overtime in 2010

The investigation by the labour ministry follows reports that labour standard inspection offices in Osaka in 2014 and Tokyo in 2015 had issued similar warnings to Dentsu, according to The Asahi Shimbun.

The Nagoya-Kita Labor Standard Inspection Office issued the warning against the company’s Chubu office in Nagoya in August 2010.

The news comes after the Japanese government launched an investigation into the death of a 24-year-old woman, who had been at the company only nine months. Labor authorities ruled her suicide as 'karoshi,' or death from overwork.
