WPP opens public sector practice in Singapore to develop citizen communications

WPP has announced the creation of a Government and Public Sector Practice in Singapore which will aim to help communication with citizens effectively.

Led by executive director Cecilia Wong, a former regional marketing director for Citi, the practice will give government clients access to WPP networks agencies offering towards behavioral change programmes, digital government transformation and citizen engagement.

Already in agreement is a partnership with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to offer a four-day executive education programme on Communication for Public Policy Delivery, agreed by the Singapore government.

To develop communications capability in Singapore government, the Practice partners with the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy to teach a four-day Executive Education programme on Communication for Public Policy Delivery.

Dr Michelle Harrison, CEO of the WPP Government and Public Sector Practice, said: “With the Smart Nation programme, Singapore is creating the platform for some of the most exciting and effective government communications in the world. Singaporean citizens, government and public services will be connected like never before. By launching the Practice in Singapore, we will ensure that our agencies and clients harness the possibilities of data and digital to the benefit of citizens.”

The Practice already has hubs in operation with the UK, Australia, New Zealand, North Africa and Middle East among its locations.
