Game of Thrones continues to dominate by a long-shot as the season ensues. As HBO expands their OTT offering across the globe, it will be interesting to see if they start fighting back more. AMC's Preacher also seems to be getting good traction. Here are the charts and insights from SimilarWeb.

HBO

Game of Thrones via HBO

  • Game of Thrones, Game of Thrones, Game of Thrones. That’s what the top shows looks like on all 3 major torrenting sites and represents the main show users have been downloading over the last 4 weeks. The season finale of the show is scheduled for June 26th and we should see torrent users downloading episodes well into the summer (and maybe even the winter, which is coming).
  • After GOT, the torrent lists start to vary wildly and no other show was able to make it to the top ten on all 3 torrenting sites. However, two shows were able to crack the top 3 on multiple torrenting sites - Preacher and Person of Interest.
  • Preacher is a brand new show which debuted on May 22nd, which has quickly found an online audience among torrent users. The show was the second most popular series on KAT and was third most popular on The Pirate Bay.
  • Like Preacher, The Flash is also based on a DC comic book character, but unlike Preacher, the show performed extremely well on Torrentz.eu. With almost 6% of the traffic share, the show was very popular among Torrentz users and also had a high ranking among KAT users.
  • The only other shows to make multiple lists were Arrow, Supernatural, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Of these shows, Arrow performed best overall, ranking as the 4th most poular show on Torrentz.eu and 5th most popular on KAT.
  • The lone comedy on the list was Silicon Valley, which took 7th place on KAT. The only animated show to crack one of the top 10 lists was The Powerpuff Girls.
  • Red Dwarf is a BBC sci-fi sitcom, which premiered way back in 1988. The show’s most recent episodes came out in 2012, and it now seems that the show has found a new audience on The Pirate Bay. The show ranked 4th overall over the last 4 weeks beating more recent shows such as Blacklist, Vikings, The Man in the High Castle, and House of Cards.
  • Horror Dramas were especially popular on KAT with Outcast, Penny Dreadful, and Fear the Walking Dead, all ranking in May. Meanwhile, The Walking Dead, another Horror Drama was extremely popular on The Pirate Bay, ranking 2nd overall with over 3% of the traffic share.
  • Some shows that were included in last month’s ranking but failed to make the cut this around include: Quantico, The Big Bang Theory, Lucifer, and Banshee.
