Americans ask searching emigration questions of Google in wake of Trump wins
Alarmed Americans, concerned at the seemingly unstoppable rise of Donald Trump, are flocking to the one portal that most still trust, Google, to find out how to emigrate.
Once a land of immigration the US could see a wave of emigration should a Trump presidency become a reality with searches spiking for ‘How to move to Canada’ as the Super Tuesday polling results came in.
Such was the significance of the burst, up 350 per cent in four hours, that Google’s data editor Simon Rogers even tweeted about it
Searches for "how can I move to Canada" on Google have spiked +350% in the past four hours #SuperTuesday

By midnight on Wednesday the term had spiked by 1,150 per cent before later falling back, meaning the search term ‘Move to Canada’ was higher than at any other point in the history of the search engine.
