With the addition of two new members the PPA now has nearly 250 companies in its membership, which collectively produce more than 2,500 consumer and business magazines and journals, as well as digital media, data products and events.

Seven’s clients include Weight Watchers, which it produces digital content and a magazine for, along with producing Sainsbury’s magazine and working with clients CIMA, Fujitsu, and Grant Thornton.

John Brown Media works on content marketing strategies for a range of blue-chip clients, and produces a portfolio of customer magazines including John Lewis Edition, Waitrose Food and My VIP for Pets at Home.

Barry McIlheney, chief executive of the PPA, said the two agencies “represent a community with professional content creation at its core” and that it is the PPA’s role to provide support, representation, and a platform for such businesses to come together.

Sean King, chief executive of Seven, said the PPA fits with the company’s own focus on reaching audiences through premium quality content.

Andrew Hirsch, chief executive of John Brown Media, said: "As a business, we are dedicated to the creation of compelling content across platforms. I look forward to working alongside our peers in this sector under the broader PPA umbrella."

A number of specialist content agencies are already members of the PPA, among them Redwood, River, White Light Media, Axon, and Think.
