Havas Helia has hired Louise Whitcombe, current chief operating officer at LIDA, as its group managing director. The appointment comes as part of the agency's plans to strengthen the senior leadership of the company.

Whitcombe will work alongside Group CEO Tash Whitmey in leading the business and promoting client and new business growth.

Whitcombe started her career at GGT Direct before securing senior leadership roles at Lowe and DraftFcb, going on to become deputy managing director at LIDA and customer relationship management director at BBH . In 2013 Whitcombe returned to LIDA as chief operating officer, and has held the role since.

Whitcombe is looking forward to "driving the business forward" and "overseeing two very significant agencies."

David Williams, who currently holds the title of managing director of Helia in Cirencester, has been promoted to group chief operating officer across the London and Cirencester agencies.
