Jeremy Clarkson has continued his ad barrage as the face of Amazon’s latest services – this time unveiling to the world for the first time the Amazon Prime Air drone.

Following the former Top Gear host touting the benefits of Amazon Prime Video – atop a Segway no less – he brings viewers “a story from the not too distant future”.

Claiming Amazon's drone delivery service can get a package to consumers as quickly as 30 minutes after purchase, Clarkson described each and every function of the tech.

Upon ordering via Amazon, consumers can select where they want the drone to land -a total of 15 miles from its home base. Notably Clarkson said "a whole family" of automated drones were promised, meaning Amazon will likely extend the range of the devices in the coming days.

Keeping shoppers in the know via GPS, the drones are designed to send a notification when goods are delivered.

In its home market of the US, and additionally the UK, drone operation remains illegal. The ad represents Amazon's first media buy intent of shifting public opinion and shaping the coming legislation regarding unmanned drones internationally.
