Publicis Worldwide names Bruno Bertelli ECD of Western Europe following Heineken win

Publicis Worldwide has appointed current chief executive Bruno Bertelli to the new role of executive creative director of Western Europe.

Taking on a dual remit, Bertelli will work closely with Guy Wieynk, chief executive of Western Europe to drive the creative agency's offering across the region.

The move follows new business from Heineken, which appointed its global accout to Publicis Worldwide from the incumbet Wieden + Kennedy in June following a pitch that Bertelli was heavily involved in.

He will be tasked with maintaining and acquring great talent, as well as ensuring there is strong connection between the firm's multiple regions.

Arthur Sadoun, global chief executive of Publicis Worldwide, said of the news: “Bertelli has continued to demonstrate creative transformation on a local and global scale for our clients, particularly Heineken. his appointment is testament to him leading some fantastic work."

Bertelli added: “My goal is to have an ever more creative offering for clients and a brand strategy that is focused on ensuring our clients continuously drive change.”

He has held the role of chief executive of Publicis Italy for the last year, having joined the company in 2011 as its joint executive creative director, along with Cristiana Boccassini – with whom he shares the accolade of most awarded creative in Italy.
