Bigdog agency has acquired Jellyfish Creative in a move that brings the company’s turnover to £14m.

The purchase will see the Northampton-based sport and fashion brand communications agency merge with its Midlands counterpart with a number of employees moving to bigdog’s Leicester office as part of the deal.

Jellyfish Creative’s Ian Hunter, who founded the company more than two decades ago, will take up the role of head of account management across its Leicester and Birmingham branches.

Hunter said he was “really excited by the opportunity that lies ahead” and added bigdog’s size and substance will allow the company to expand our services in terms of new disciplines and additional talent."

Bigdog chief executive James Clifton said the agency has “ambitious plans” to increase its size and share of the market which will involve acquisitions as well as organic growth. He also highlighted Jellyfish Creative’s compatibility with bigdog and said that it would “bring a new dimension to the agency”.

Bigdog, which has offices in London and Norwich, expanded in March following a merger with Big Communications which saw its company grow to 160 employees.
