Heineken is on the hunt for a new UK marketing director after promoting its current top marketer Jacco van der Linden to managing director, China.

During his three and half years in the role van der Linden helped shake up Heineken's London operation by restructuring the marketing department and centralising the consumer marketing team in one place, rather than across the UK.

He also created dedicated category development teams working with retailers to develop their own customer strategy and activation teams of on-trade and off-trade.

Van der Linden was also integral in helping to steer the brand's CRM strategy in addition to activating Heineken's rugby sponsorship of the rugby world cup.

David Forde, Heineken’s UK managing director said of van der Linden: "Under his marketing leadership, Heineken has strengthened its UK cider & beer portfolios, significantly increased our innovation programme and transformed our customer marketing organisation.”

Van der Linden will take up his new role in mid-August and his successor in the UK will be announced upon completion of the recruitment process.
